Students in Kofa High School’s Law & Public Safety program are accepting donations through March 2 as part of an initiative dubbed “Gratitude’s the Attitude.”
The student-led effort asks for community members to donate toys, canned goods, hygiene products, books, blankets, snacks, and clothing. This donation drive will support local charities like Amberly’s Place, Crossroads Mission, The Healing Journey, and the Catholic Community Services of Southern Arizona Safe House Shelter.
With the students spearheading the initiative, Yoselyn Gonzalez Ocampo – one of the teens helping to lead the effort – explained how the Gratitude’s the Attitude drive has been an insightful experience.
“This project has made us realize how important it is to give back to the community. I think a lot of us forget how in need people are, and people need to give back more,” she shared.
People are encouraged to drop off donations at Kofa High School between 3 and 5 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. To learn more about Gratitude’s the Attitude, contact Eric Frost at efrost@yumaunion.org or 928-446-2281.
